Underwear - A round up of our favourite solutions

Photography by Zach & Grace

I always tell brides not to worry too much about underwear when they are selecting their dress. Not only can we customise every dress to accommodate a bra, but there are some amazing options out there in terms of solutions. I have rounded up our favourites and where we direct the majority of our brides to when they ask for recommendations. They vary in price and it’s entirely a bride’s choice how much spend she wants to commit to underwear but when you are investing so much in a wedding dress it makes sense to have a winning dream team of underwear supporting you through the day too, you want to be able to dance and eat and drink without worrying too much about things being dislodged…. This doesn’t however mean wear the tightest ‘reducing’ underwear you can find, I strongly discourage brides against this, they are uncomfortable, restrictive and honestly; really bad for you. The below round up is intended to support, skim and keep you in place NOT induce pain on your wedding day.

Bye Bra

Bye bra

With innumerable solutions Bye Bra cover both bra and knicker solutions in range of colours, the popular breast lift tapes cover sizes from an A-H and they really do work without peeling off and moving throughout the day. We have these in the boutique and LOVE them.

Equally obsessed with sustainability as we are Ender Legard bodysuits are not a cheap purchase but most definitely a lifetime investment that could be utilised throughout your life. It’s also a little sexier than some of the skimming options on the market which is a nice touch. Their MAE, IVY and AMY seamless bodysuits are all Made To Order with OEKO-Tex certified fabrics sourced from the UK and Europe, with sizing from 32B to 36E and they are launching additional skin tones shortly for greater inclusivity and diversity. They cover backless, frontless and strapless, the backless is perfect with our Vega Dress and our brides have sworn by it.

skims

Incredibly popular, developed by Kim Kardashian, it’s not necessarily on brand but they do offer a large amount of shapewear and underwear in inclusive sizes and colours which is applaudable and much needed, they are also budget friendly for brides not looking to spend too much on underwear. They also show the underwear on a model in your size which I just think is the best thing ever to be honest.

The Pantry Underwear is an independent, female foundered underwear destination aiming to take the dread out of underwear shopping. Focusing on female founded independent brands they offer over 40 brands across low-back, seamless and bridal solutions, maternity, swim, sleep and beyond. They also offer virtual appointments to run through solutions for specific pieces which is worth its weight in gold. Solutions start at £15 with inclusive sizes and colours.

Perky Pear, stocked in a range of sizes and skin tones we stock these in our boutique and they work a dream. Their site is informative showing different breast shapes which is super helpful if you think your breasts have to confirm to a certain shape to use these. There is also an informative guide on how to apply them over on youtube here

A classic, although not an overly inclusive range of colours and sizing, especially in regards to cup sizing this is a more budget friendly bodysuit that will work with many of our backless dresses. Available in champagne and black.
