Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, we are appointment only, and we have a few different options to choose from. Find out all you need to know on our booking page here.

We recommend no more than 3 guests. Any more than that and it can get a little crowded with personalities and opinions, and it can make your decision even more difficult! However, if you feel brave enough to bring a bigger entourage, we can usually accommodate them, just please contact us to check in advance. You are also more than welcome to come alone if you prefer that; we’ve had lots of brides in the past who have found it much easier to come to a decision without other people’s ideas getting in the way!

We have shoes for brides to try with dresses, but if you already have found your wedding shoes or accessories you can bring them with pleasure and try them on with our gowns. Wearing similar underwear to what you might like to wear on the big day is a good idea, in a nude shade if possible to avoid distracting from the dress

We have a range of appointment options lasting from 45 minutes to two hours, please see the booking page for more details.

We’d say the ideal time is around 9 months before the big day, but obviously we’re more than happy to accommodate people earlier or later if their circumstances require it. Your first fitting will then be around 4 months before the wedding, and your final fitting/pickup date approximately 1 month before. But none of this is set in stone, we can work around you!

Our usual minimum lead time is 16 weeks before your wedding date, although in quieter times we can usually accommodate rush orders for a fee (see ‘Pricing’ below), so please don’t hesitate to ask if you need a dress sooner. We have made dresses very quickly for last-minute brides before and we are more than willing to do it again!

We also always have a selection of sample gowns on our sale rail which are available to take away upon the day of purchase, so if you’re a shotgun bride this may be the very thing for you. You can book a sample sale appointment on the booking page.

Dresses range between £1500 and £2650, with most dresses sitting around £1900-£2300.
Separates (combinations of skirts and tops) range between £1200 and £2640.

We also always have a limited selection of sample gowns on our sale rail for under £1k. These are brand-new design prototypes, and sample dresses which we can no longer stock due to discontinued fabrics. A brilliant opportunity to grab yourself an incredible bargain! We currently only have up to a size 14 in the sample sale, some of these pieces can fit up to a size 16.

Rush orders for dresses ordered with less than 4 months’ notice before the wedding date are charged on a sliding scale: under 16 weeks £200/£100 (dresses/separates), under 12 weeks £250/£125, under 8 weeks £300/£150

We ask for 50% payment on the day, then the second 50% three months after the date of purchase.

Alterations are charged in addition to your dress and are quoted on an individual basis. We don’t charge for hem length alterations, because we make the dresses here so we don’t finish off the hem until you have come in for a fitting with your wedding shoes for us to establish the perfect length. As a rough idea, average alterations costs can be between £50 and £150.

All our dresses are made to order for each individual bride so deposits are non-refundable, and all sales are final.

This is allowed, but strongly discouraged. The reason most stores don’t allow it is because one bad photo can give a skewed view of how a dress looks which puts bride off a dress they love and look amazing in! But we appreciate it helps to remember what you’ve tried on, especially if you’ve looked at a lot of dresses, or as a memento of the day. So, we don’t ban you from taking pictures completely, we would just urge you to hesitate about taking pictures of the favourite dresses you try on. The sample dress will likely not fit you perfectly, and you may not have the correct underwear or all your shoes and accessories, so the overall effect will be imperfect, and a bad picture can really kill your buzz. When it comes to making your final decision, listen to your instincts and how you feel, not a poorly lit badly angled phone snap!

All our pieces are available in sizes 6 to 22 as standard, with other sizes available upon request at no extra charge. We make your dress to the nearest standard size to your measurements, then alter the finished piece so it fits your individual figure perfectly. However, if you have had fitting problems with standard sizing in the past, we can also offer a bespoke pattern service for an extra £450 which will be drafted to your personal measurements.

We always have in a range of samples for brides to try on which cover sizes 8 – 20, although our sizing is quite generous so our 16s fit some size 18 ladies, and some 20's will fit a size 22. But if you are smaller or bigger than an 8 or a 20, please don’t hesitate to visit anyway; we can pin and fit the sample dresses on you easily enough to give you a good idea of what they’ll look like in your size and provide expert advice about which size to order and what alterations might be needed for the most flattering fit.

We do all our alterations in house, making the journey smooth and stress-free for our brides. We are equipped with expert knowledge about the style of dresses we make, and the fabrics we use, and are confident we can provide the best alterations service you could ever need to make your dress the most exquisitely fitting thing you have ever worn. There is no need to fear ordering a dress if you haven’t been able to try on the correct size for you, as we can guarantee the perfect fit and finish.

Please see our Measuring and Sizing page for helpful information on how measurements are taken and what the sizing details are.
